REGULAR MEETING

February 10, 2021


ACKLEY CITY COUNCIL met in regular session February 10, 2021 in the Ackley Council Chambers with Mayor Pat Daggs presiding. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Council members present: Joe Wessels, Mike Abbas, Judy Crawford, Chuy Flores, and Pat Hurt. Quorum present.


Wessels moved, Hurt seconded, to approve the February 10, 2021 Agenda as listed. Ayes-all, Motion carried.


Abbas moved, Hurt seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda by one motion: a) January 13,2021 Regular Meeting Minutes and February 1 and 5, 2021 Special minutes, as written. b) Bills approval, as listed. c) Place Reports on file: January 2021 Clerk Bank Reconciliation/Cash Report/Treasurer Report; January 2021 Clerk Budget Reports; January 2021 Deputy Clerk Utility Billing Reconciliation; January 2021 Ambulance Report; January 2021 Fire Report; January 2021 Ackley Development Report; January 2021 Council Committee Reports-Buildings/Admin and Water/Sanitation. Ayes-All. Motion carried.


Motion by Wessels, seconded by Abbas to approve Installation Agreement with Ferguson Enterprises to install water meters. Ayes-All. Motion carried.


Motion by Hurt, seconded by Flores to approve the appointment of Christ Richtsmeier to the Ambulance Service Board of Trustees with a term effective immediately and ending December 31, 2021. Ayes-All. Motion carried.


Wessels moved, Crawford seconded to approve Beer/Liquor Licenses for Casey’s General Store #1921, American Legion Post #252, Grumpy’s Bar, and Dollar General Store. Ayes-All. Motion carried.


Crawford inquired as to if we have gotten the plans for the Splash Pad and numbers. Hurt responded with they have only received estimated numbers from Ramaker & Associates. Crawford moved, Wessels seconded to approve payment of $3,125.00 to Ramaker & Associates for Splash Pad engineering. Ayes-all. Motion carried.


Motion by Abbas, seconded by Wessels to approve Final Pay Estimate No. 15 in the amount of $37,624.59 to Municipal Pipe for the Sanitary Sewer Phase I project. Ayes-All. Motion carried

Motion by Wessels, seconded by Abbas to approval Final Pay Estimate No. 4 in the amount of $17,362.53 to MP Backhoe, LLC for the 2019/2020 Watermain, City Hall sidewalk replacement and Storm Sewer Repair, and Cougar Den’s steps repair. Ayes-All. Motion carried.


Clerk Dennis reported she has heard back from Dorsey & Whitney about 2020A GO Bond, regarding if there is left over City funds, after applying all Betterment Group funds collected for the Splash Pad/Pool project, if we can use the remainder of the funds on other pool related expenses, Amy Bjork stated we could do so.


No public comments.


Crawford moved, Abbas seconded to adjourn at 7:11 p.m. Ayes-5. Motion carried.
