SPECIAL MEETING
October 14, 2019
ACKLEY CITY COUNCIL met in special session October 14, 2019 in the Ackley City Hall Council Chambers with Mayor Erik Graham presiding. The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. Council members present: Pat Daggs, Robert Harms, Joe Wessels, and Judy Crawford. Absent: Pat Hurt. Quorum present.
Harms moved, Wessels seconded, to approve the October 14, 2019 Agenda as listed. Ayes-4. Motion carried.
Wessels moved, Crawford seconded, to adopt Resolution No. 19-35 Approving the Annual Financial Report for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2019. Roll call vote: Ayes-Harms, Wessels, Crawford, Daggs; Absent-Hurt. Motion carried.
Discussion was held on the purchase of a dual tank chlorinator for $6,855. Ackley currently has a one tank system. The DNR has recommended, but not mandated, the use of a dual tank system. Council is wanting more information such as how often the city runs out of chlorine, and how often it is checked. Wessels will gather the additional information and present it at the November meeting.
Council and members of the Ackley Development Commission discussed updates needed to their 28E agreement due to the resignation of Angela De La Riva as the full time Ackley Economic Development Director, and the hiring of her in the new position of Hardin County Economic Development Director.
Discussion was held on building improvements and capital projects to help determine the allocation of the new GO loan that the City plans to obtain.
With no further discussion, Harms moved, Daggs seconded, to adjourn at 5:54 p.m. Ayes-4. Motion carried.
