The mission of the Ackley Public Library is to serve the public and to ensure equal access to information and ideas to promote lifelong learning and enrich the lives of its patrons.  Technology in the library is to provide electronic information resources free to all Ackley Public Library patrons.

The library collection boasts of over 16,000 books, including fiction and non-fiction for children, teens and adults, available in large print and audiobooks as well as traditional hardback and paperback forms.  Our movie collection holds over 4,000 titles.  Puzzles, cake pans, magazines and newspapers are also available.  At the library you has have access to the Hardin County Newspaper Archive and e-books on our NEIBORS website.  We are available to make copies, fax, laminate, and scan your documents.

Current information about our library programs, access to the card catalog, links to Tumblebooks, NEIBORS, LearningExpress Library and EBSCOhost are found on our home page.  Programs are available for Toddlers and After School Friends (see website for details.)   We have two book discussion groups for adults.  There are 5 public computers and a Workforce Development computer available.  Free wyfy is available to all.
