Fishing at Prairie Bridges

Prairie Bridges Park is home to 12 acres of abandoned gravel quarries.  These quarries were excavated and linked with water passageways.  Fishing areas are accessible by small boats with electric motors or canoes.  The ponds have been stocked with large mouth bass, small mouth bass, and most recently 3,000 hybrid blue gill.  Fishing is also accessible through a 14' x 16' handicapped accessible dock, cleared shoreline, or numerous bridges.

Hybrid bluegill limit of 5 per licensed fisherman per day.

Annual Kid's Fishing Derby

Every year during Sauerkraut Days Prairie Bridges Park is home to free children's fishing derby.  Registration starts at 9:00 a.m., and fishing lasts from 10:00-11:00.  Award plaques are given for multiple age categories and include largest and most fish caught.  There is also a raffle for fishing poles and every child in attendance receives a prize.  Lunch is also served for all in attendance.  The Derby is sponsored by a number of area businesses and is free of charge!
