Bridges
8 Unique and/or historical bridges that link the main use areas of the
park including
tan 85' multi-use bridge over Beaver Creek.
Ackley's historical "200 Log" bridge, built in the 1870's as part of
the Central Iowa Railroad
100 year old 60' pony truss bridge
donated by Butler County that connects the forest and camping areas.
Forest
An extensive forestry resource including one of Iowa's first
"investment forests" a forest planted by volunteers with 2700 tree
seedlings. Park is also ringed with 226 large caliper native trees
that were planted.
Trails
3 miles of handicapped accessible trails loop through the pond and
prairie systems. Trails were constructed from excavated material
and surfaced with ground hard limestone.
Town Trail
Recently completed asphalt trail leads to ammenities in Ackley.
Restored Prairie
Eighteen acres of diverse tall grass prairie reconstruction that
contains over 80 species that are native to Iowa including:
